About Me

My photo
Just to tell you a little about myself, my name is Vickie and I was born and raised in Kentucky. The majority of my ancestors have been in Kentucky since the 1790’s. I have always loved history, a good mystery and puzzles and that is what Family History Research is all about. As a child we would take day trips on Saturdays and head down some dirt road looking for old cemeteries. A lot of the time we weren't looking for anyone in particular, we just like to read the epitaphs. We would have a picnic lunch packed and have lunch at whatever cemetery we were at. If the weather was bad my Dad and I would go to a courthouse and dig through old records in musty old basements looking for our ancestors. So as you can see I have had an interest in Family History for quite some time.

Facebook page for Family History Questions & Family Group pages as well

I have started a page on Facebook, to post when a new story, or whatever strikes my fancy that I have written here on my blog and where you can look for helpful hints, interesting stories, cute cartoons, etc., anything and everything to help in your search for your ancestors.

You can also post queries on my Facebook page, asking for help or questions on where to look for things or what to do next and if I can help in answering these queries and questions, I will sure let you know.   I have friends who are also deeply into research that I can ask for help as well.  So if I don't know the answers to your questions I have other resources I can use.

Here is the link to my Facebook page:

I have also started some group pages for the following families.

This one is for the descendants of John Corlett McNeil, his 3 wives and 26 children.

This one is for the descendants of Joseph Mortenson & Mary Myrtle Kerby.

This one is for the descendants of Peter Elmer Thompson & Annie Frances McNeil.

  1. I need to contact you by email. My email address is hvabrams@gmail.com. My 3rd gr-grandfather was William Beard b. abt 1770 in Ahoghill, County Antrim, Ireland. I see that your Beards were from County Antrim also. I am wondering if there is a connection.
