About Me

My photo
Just to tell you a little about myself, my name is Vickie and I was born and raised in Kentucky. The majority of my ancestors have been in Kentucky since the 1790’s. I have always loved history, a good mystery and puzzles and that is what Family History Research is all about. As a child we would take day trips on Saturdays and head down some dirt road looking for old cemeteries. A lot of the time we weren't looking for anyone in particular, we just like to read the epitaphs. We would have a picnic lunch packed and have lunch at whatever cemetery we were at. If the weather was bad my Dad and I would go to a courthouse and dig through old records in musty old basements looking for our ancestors. So as you can see I have had an interest in Family History for quite some time.

My Personal Online Family Trees

Most family trees produce some lemons, some real nuts, and a few bad apples, mine produced all of them.

Rootsweb is still partially down and so the following trees will not be available off and on.  I finally found a site to hold my trees.  I don't have all of them on there yet, but I am getting there.  Here is the link for my new site.  You will need to register to access the different trees.

I Dig My Roots and Branches

The following site is a combination of my Dad & Mom's families and those that married into both sides of my family no matter how close or distant that may have been.

These next sites are from my Dad's side of the family.

These next sites are from my Mom's side of the family.

The Loftis Family from MD, DE, SC, TN, KY, VA, AL, TX & elsewhere. Also the families of Hawkins, Morgan, Lee, Jones, Chaffin & Haney families who married in.

Descendants of Richard & Penelope Stout & their 10 Children

The following site is for the Parker surname, which I have on both my Dad & Mom's sides of the family, as well as my good friend Malia's side of the family.  They were all in the same areas and I believe they all connect together, working on figuring that all out and where the three lines connect.

Parker Families of Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee & Kentucky

These sites are some of my relatives that ask me to put their info online.

  1. Christopher Clark >Sarah Coker

My name is Samuel Blueford Bolling. I 'descend from Thomas Coker (of Bibb, AL) 1755-1818 and Sarah Clark Ca.1760 SC.I am looking for the connection in GA/SC of my Sarah with the Bolling/Bowling & Jonathan Clarke families of same. My ggg grandfather was Noah Blueford Coker, Jr; we (Coker researchers) believe his father's middle name is derived from Buford, as in Winifred wife of Bowling Clark 1722 VA - 1813 SC. Anyone found the parentage of Winifred Buford, my other 'brick wall'? By the way, the Family group [5] Bolling (my line)/ Bowling's are that of William of Orange ,& Ann Sims have No Connection DNA-wise to the Robert Bolling of Petersburg / Pocahontas line. re: Penelope Johnson was not a Bolling/Bowling that I have ever been able to find. Only a Johnson / Johnston that had 1st married a Massie. Sincerely Sam B. Bolling II of Mobile, AL

    1. Hi Sam,

Thanks for making contact. I have not seen anything about Sarah Clark and Thomas Coker, but I will keep my eyes open though while I am researching and if I run across anything I will be sure and let you know.

I also come through Bowling Clark and Winifred Buford who were my 5th great-grandparents, through their son, Joseph. A number of trees are trying to put Winifred with some parents, but as of yet I have not found anything to take me there.

I know there are at least 2 separate, Bolling/Bowling lines in Virginia one to Pocahontas and one not.

I will keep you posted if I run across anything that might help.
